Ja Rule's Bahamian musical bash has turned out to be anything but luxurious. According to many of its reported attendees, the Fyre Festival disaster has to be seen to be believed. The two weekend celebration was supposed to be unlike any other festival people have ever seen. With tickets ranging from $400 to $14,000, I'm sure attendees were expecting a lot more than what they apparently received upon arrival Thursday, April 27. Let's just say that the fest got off to a pretty rocky start.
Fyre Festival has already released a statement about the chaotic event:
"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we must postpone this experience. We are working tirelessly to ensure each guest leaves the island safely and ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation as we continue to provide ongoing updates via email and our official social media channels as they become available, including refund information."
UPDATE: Friday afternoon, Ja Rule released a statement about the events on his Twitter account. "I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT," he wrote. "But I'm taking responsibility and I'm deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this."
EARLIER: And these circumstances are pretty wild. I'm talking unfinished concert sites, canceled headliners, and no beer, according to reports and social media posts. Even among those who didn't head to the festival, it's been a source of conversation. As a result, I've gathered 14 memes and tweets about the Fyre Festival that prove it's all the internet can talk about, even if it didn't happen the way it was meant to.
