Boscia's New Charcoal Jelly Ball Cleanser Is Strange & Great

by Rosie Narasaki

The tagline for Boscia's latest new cleanser reads, "Cleanse it all, with this jelly-textured ball." Now, if that's not intriguing, I don't know what is. So, what exactly is the Boscia Charcoal Jelly Ball Cleanser?

Well, for starters, it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like: It's a jelly-textured charcoal cleanser that happens to be shaped like a ball. It comes packaged in a balloon, which you have to puncture before you use it. Once it comes out of the balloon, you can use the jelly ball to massage your face as you lather — and then when you're done cleansing, you can place it on its stand where it will await your next face washing.

Now, why would you want this jelly ball cleanser? Well, naturally antibiotic activated black bamboo charcoal has long been a well-loved purifying ingredient, which makes it a great addition to the formula. Plus, the cleanser also comes armed with Tamarindus Indica seed gum, which contains naturally occurring hyaluronic acid and other soothing components, as well as antioxidants. Astringent Hinoki oil also makes its way into the mix, to help tighten pores. And perhaps most exciting of all? Its special shape and jelly form help it to be even more effective at cleaning.

After all, you can follow up your cleansing with Boscia's well-loved favorites, like their Charcoal Deep-Pore Exfoliating Peeling Gel, or their Charcoal Pore Pudding.
