She may be a busy mom of two daughters, an actor, producer, and the makeup mogul behind FLOWER Beauty. But that didn't stop Drew Barrymore from slaying the 2017 Golden Globes. Barrymore hit on a big fashion trend and a 2017 Globes-specific trend with her sparkly Monique Lhuillier dress. The silver and champagne-colored gown had a "cold shoulder" top — that is, it bared the tops of both of her shoulders. It also had a deep-dipping V bodice, showing off ample cleavage, and had appendages that looked like wings. A plunging front panel was one of the most popular silhouettes of this year's Globes' red carpet.
It was a complete and total Drew moment. Her Lhuillier totally fit her cute and quirky aesthetic.
Barrymore's dress also had an open back, so it's a good thing the ceremony took place in Los Angeles, with its balmy weather.
She paired the frock with Harry Winston jewels because of course she did.
Barrymore's red carpet appearances are much more infrequent these days, so she certainly is "one to watch" when she does grace us with her presence. She was booked as a presenter at the show and she certainly gave off the vibe that she was stoked to be there and to play dress up.
I'm not the only one who thought the dress had wings.
Barrymore also went with statement, voluminous hair and larger-than-life lashes, which she showed off ahead of her carpet appearance on Insta. Her coif reminded me of Farrah Fawcett in the '70s and since Barrymore brought Charlie's Angels to the big screen in the '00s, it made sense and showed how beauty trends are cyclical. Everything comes back in style.
