Bustle's Most Wanted: Everlane's Tees

by Jordan Hughes

As long as I can remember, I've been on the hunt for the most essential, simple, and somehow elusive fashion staple for my closet — the perfect white tee. Through the years, I've spent way too much money and time on my search, only to continually lose my favorite tees to the sad fate of over-washing and overwear. So you can imagine my delight when I received my first Everlane shirt in the mail.

Out of their many fabulous and fairly priced tops, pants, and accessories, I grabbed myself the Cotton Box-Cut Pocket Tee in pure white. It was true to size, soft, and versatile as hell. After that, I was sold — and my closet basically started to stock the entire Everlane line.

Everlane was founded in 2010, and it's become an easy brand to love. Especially if you live in NYC, where they offer an amazing one-hour delivery service on their products. I cannot tell you how many times they have saved me after I've dropped, like, an entire bottle of wine onto my outfit before a business meeting or when I've forgotten about a friend's birthday.

And besides their perfect tees and amazing service, this company is built on the principle of transparent cost — if there's an item you love, you can quickly see the breakdown of the cost it takes to make it, and understand the price point you're paying for it. And speaking of that price point? It's beyond fair — I'm often floored at how little I can spend on these quality pieces.

It's easy to feel good about buying your fresh tees from this site, too. Because in the world of questionable fast fashion, Everlane is a very ethical company. In addition to being open about cost, they prioritize building strong relationships with factories to ensure that there's integrity and fairness in the work behind your garment.

Outside of all of that, the amazing thing about Everlane's quality is how well the products retain their color, shape, and softness even through constant wear. Though I often find myself retiring my dingy white T-shirt's to my pajama pile, my Everlanes remain in heavy rotation for my outfit of the day.

For their ethical process, their transparent business model, and their wonderful product — I'm totally sold. Everlane is my forever favorite.
