BB-8's Evil Twin Has Fans Making Fun Of His "Dark Side"

On Thursday it was announced that the beloved droid, BB-8, is getting an evil twin for the upcoming installment in the classic series, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is set to hit theaters this December. The announcement of this new character was made by dropping its toy counterpart, appropriately named BB-9E, and making it available for purchase for Force Friday II. The goth-looking droid features many similarities to BB-8. The basic structure of the two droids look similar; both feature a large sphere body with a tinier dome-like head on top. However, where BB-8 displays a cheerful orange and white exterior, BB-9E goes full Peter Parker in Spiderman 3, as one Twitter user pointed out, and is all black with gray trimmings.

This dark-side droid also features a menacing red eye, compared to BB-8's cute blue eye and, according to Mashable, which got to play around with the new droid toy, even the sounds that the toy makes seem scarier and when you control it with the app, the color scheme and music switch over to the dark side, as well.
