Finn Is OK In 'The Last Jedi'

Lucasfilm

At the end of The Force Awakens, one of our heroes is seriously out of commission. As Rey departs, her pal is unconscious, leaving many fans desperate to confirm that Finn is OK in The Last Jedi. Apparently, we can breathe a sigh of relief. At Star Wars Celebration 2017, John Boyega teased Finn's future in the next Star Wars episode.

"He’s in recovery and he will be back in The Last Jedi and he’s not playing this time," said the actor. Doesn't sound like a guy who's paralyzed from the waist down to me (as many fans feared).

Of course, Boyega didn't explain how Finn will be back, so it's possible that there are some side effects, but it stands to reason that Finn will be running and jumping and perfectly capable of perhaps grabbing another lightsaber and giving it a go?

That is, if Finn even sticks around. In The Force Awakens, we saw Finn almost leave the Resistance, staying only to help Rey escape from Kylo Ren. According to Boyega, we may not be at the end of Finn's dilemma.

"Is he gonna be part of the Resistance of is he gonna keep running away from the First Order, we’ll see," posited Boyega.

In the trailer, we still see Finn in a medical pod, but if Boyega says he'll come out of it, I choose to believe him. (Plus, you don't have an actor like that and keep him in bed for a whole a movie.)

Boyega also gave some hope to fans of the Finn & Poe relationship. Many fans are hoping that the characters will be revealed to share a romantic connection, making them the first LGBTQ Star Wars characters. While he didn't say anything about the nature of their relationship, he did assure fans that the duo are still besties.

"There’s always a new adventure to go on. He’s my boy," he said.

Well, there you have it. Finn is going on adventures and he's not playing around. I'd say he's more than OK in Episode 8.
