Update: On March 6, TMZ reported that according to a death certificate the publication obtained, Paxton died after a surgery for an aneurysm led to a stroke.

We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

The passing is unexpected, as Paxton was starring in the CBS drama Training Day. The actor's son James was recently slated to appear alongside him on the show. In a recent interview with People, Paxton gushed about spending time with his children. Paxton will be missed by Hollywood and family alike.
