The year is quickly coming to an end, but Starbucks has one last surprise up its sleeve before 2016 is out. Starting Friday, Dec. 23, the coffee giant is giving away free espresso beverages, and I couldn't be more excited if they came from Santa himself. To learn how to get free Starbucks espresso drinks during the 10 Days of Cheer event, read on, because a little jolt of caffeine is what everyone secretly needs to get through the holidays.

Starbucks will be doling out all your favorite espresso-based drinks in bright red holiday cups over the course of their 10 Days of Cheer event. Through Monday, Jan. 2 (excluding Dec. 25), "Pop Up Cheer Parties" are being held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. local time at 100 participating Starbucks locations each day across the United States — which means that you can't just pop into any old Starbucks and demand a Gingerbread Latte on the house. The locations for the Cheer Parties are released daily, so finding the party nearest you takes a little bit of internet research. You don't have to be a Rewards member to take advantage of this giveaway — merely showing up is enough (preferably early)! No matter your espresso style, Starbucks can make it happen, from rich, chocolatey Mochas to creamy Flat Whites and oh so seasonal Chestnut Praline Lattes. I don't know about you, but I'm so ready to get my cheer on!

Here's how to get your free drink on during Starbucks' 10 Days of Cheer:

1. Log On To The 10 Days Of Cheer Website

Cheer Parties will be going on at 100 select Starbucks every day (except Dec. 25) through the New Year. To find cheer near you and take home a tasty cappuccino, go to Starbucks’ 10 Days of Cheer website. The locations change each day, so if there isn't one happening near you, don't sweat it. New locations will be revealed daily, so you'll want to check the site each morning.

2. Search Cheer Parties By State

Click on the drop down menu to search by state. Once you find your region, a list of Starbucks locations hosting Cheer Parties that day will appear. Tap on the "View on Map" link to the right of the locations and a new window with GoogleMaps directions to that location will open up.

4. Show Up To The Location On Time

Hop in a car, grab a bike, or strap on some sneakers and head on over to the designated Pop Up Cheer Party location. Be sure to arrive between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. (the earlier the better!) to receive your free Tall Starbucks espresso beverage of choice.

5. Enjoy Your Free Drink!

Once you arrive at the designated cheer location, ask the barista for the Tall espresso drink of your choice, and enjoy! There is only one free drink available per person; however, you can also get a Cheer Card at participating locations that can be used to redeem special discounts on other Starbucks products while supplies lasts.
