You're Going To Want To Try These Ice Cream Doughnuts ASAP

I once waited tables at a place that made its own doughnuts, and sampling those was pretty much the best perk of any job I've had. What could possibly make homemade doughnuts even better? How about ice cream! Ice-cream stuffed doughnuts are here, and they basically look like art you can eat. I think it's safe to say that B Sweet Dessert Bar, based in my adopted hometown of Los Angeles, has officially made the most enticing dessert sandwich ever.

The Halo is a doughnut sliced in half, stuffed with your favorite flavor of ice cream, and cooked in a hot press for about 10 seconds, which results in a delicious treat that's both hot and gooey and cold and refreshing at the same time. And, it's equal parts delicious.

National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 16, and having a Halo seems like a fitting way to celebrate a day set aside specifically to worship ice cream. But, why wait until then? It's going to be 100 degrees in some parts of the city this weekend, so now seems like a pretty good time to sample a Halo. What's that, you don't live in Los Angeles? I am truly sorry. While I have not yet tried these colorful, Instagram-worthy desserts, they just moved to the top of my must-eat list.

Weblog L.A. Made with Olivia Jade recently visited the B Sweet Dessert Bar in West Los Angeles and documented making their own ice-cream stuffed doughnut sandwiches, and I was having major FOMO just watching it, so I can only imagine how you must feel.

Aside from combining two of the best desserts, Halo is beautiful to look at, and people aren't wasting any time sharing their love for Halo on social. I mean, can we talk about how amazing this looks? I want the job of the person who gets to take a bite out of every single ice-cream doughnut. Where do I sign up?

Even Darth Vader takes a break from the Dark Side to enjoy a purple Halo during the summer heatwave. Because, it's a doughnut stuffed with ice cream. Clearly this is more important than holding back the Rebel forces.

But, obviously, the Rebels love ice-cream stuffed doughnuts, too. Maybe the Rebels and the Dark Side can agree on something after all.

If you're dying to try these yourself, and you're not road tripping to L.A. anytime soon, you can make your own ice-cream stuffed doughnuts at home. Simplemost posted a recipe that is — you guessed it — super simple. All you need is biscuit dough, your favorite ice cream, and frying oil.

Seriously, get to B Sweet, or to the store to grab the ingredients to make an ice-cream stuffed doughnut. Because, this is one summer treat everyone has to try.
