Instagram Now Has Days Of The Week Stickers
Ever feel like you've fallen into a rut posting a new Insta story every 24 hours? As of March 31, the photo sharing app is adding one more tool to make sure that no two posts are alike: days of the week stickers on Instagram. Stickers add context to your Stories so all those faithful followers scrolling quickly through each slideshow will be able to get a clear sense of your posting location, time, and now — day. Happy Friday, y'all! These fresh new days of the week stickies are playful, colorful, and fun, and each day comes with several custom options that can be matched to your mood. Whether you're pumped for the weekend ahead or feeling sluggish while headed back to work on a Monday, Instagram has you covered with the perfect sticker to show how you really feel about where you're at in the week.
Following the new geo-location sticker designs that were released earlier this month, Instagram is expanding users' options when it comes to sharing information with their friends. Each day of the week has several different styles, but they will only be available on the app on their respective day (no #Latergrams allowed), which makes these new additions ideal for ephemeral stories that only stick around for 24 hours. So far we only know what styles are available for Friday, so we'll have to check back into the sticker tray each day to find out what might be in store for us on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
No update is required to access the new sticker options, rolling out to users Friday. Once you take a photo or video, tap the stickers button in the top right hand corner to bring up that day's selection. Friday currently has four fun options, including a punny french fries icon with the word "Fry-Day" on it, as well as a TGIF sticker perfect for that moment when happy hour finally arrives. The days of the week stickers bear more in common with seasonal and holiday stickers than the more conservative time and weather designators — turning each day into its own event. Tap your fave sticker to add it to your photo or video and once it has been placed, tap the sticker yet again to scroll through its different looks and color combo options.
Stickers have certainly come a long way since they were introduced to Stories in December of last year. Their specificity is being honed with each update, providing users with even more creative tools of communication. If you can't find me this weekend, I'll probably be snapping photos of my Eggs Benedict at brunch and definitely adding a Sunday Funday sticker to my post.
