Amy Adams & Darren Le Gallo Had A Long Engagement

When is Amy Adams not having a good acting year? She is consistently one of the hardest working and most talented actors in Hollywood, delivering a diverse array of characters and... Can you tell I am a big fan? While Adams is a staple on the big screen and on red carpets, it is only fair to wonder about her life beyond the screen. In 2010, she and Darren Le Gallo welcomed their first child, Aviana, and they had been known to be engaged for a while, but is Amy Adams married?

Well, for many years she was a fiancée, but Adams has been married to Darren Le Gallo since 2015 and it was a long time coming.

Adams and Le Gallo are proof that good things comes to those that wait, and that a long engagement can actually work out for the best. On May 3, 2015, Le Gallo and Adams tied the knot in California, after being engaged since 2008. In early 2016, Adams spoke out to U.K.'s The Times Magazine about the decision to finally marry after so much time and said,

“We always had the commitment but now he’s stuck with me and I can really act out. I’m kidding. The truth is, I feel a stronger sense of family, a bigger sense of permanence, which is a nice thing for me.”

The couple met in 2001 in Los Angeles, where they were both taking an acting class together. Adams recounted their first meeting in a 2008 Vanity Fair interview,

“I had another boyfriend, and Darren was dating some girl[.] I did scenes with him, and I liked him and thought he was really sweet ... I was really focused on the classes — he was a little scared of me.”

It wasn't until they worked together in a short film co-directed by their acting coach, Warner Loughlin, that the sparks flew further between the two. Adams told Vanity Fair,

"I got to know him outside of class. And I just found him to be such a genuine, caring person. And assertive! He demanded that we go out on a date. He said, ‘I know you’re getting over this [other] guy, but I’m taking you out on Wednesday.’ I think that was it exactly. And I was like, ‘And so you are!’ That was six years ago.”

D'awww! Since then, Le Gallo has focused on being an artist while Adams has obviously become one of the most in-demand actors in the business. On his own social media, Le Gallo is every bit the supportive husband and partner, posting photos and dedications to his long-time love.

Having such a stable and well-established relationship before marrying seems to give Adams the comfort she needs, especially in the wild career that she has. Back in 2008 she told USA Today of her relationship with Le Gallo, "It's really important to have someone to remind you who you are...I'll run all over but come back to him, and I know who I am." Gosh, are they precious.
