Is The Unicorn Frappuccino Vegan?
Starbuck's Unicorn Frapp has literally swept the national like an epidemic in the last few hours. I mean, literally, I'm writing from Starbucks because I just straight-up zombie walked here after seeing the 100th picture of the pink majestic ice goddess on Instagram and had to try it myself. But if you're vegan and you're wondering if the Unicorn Frappuccino at Starbucks is vegan, I'm sorry to tell you that it is not. But I'm also happy to tell you that it can be!
Yes, just like any drink at Starbucks, the Unicorn Frappuccino is customizable, so you can easily make it work with your dietary restrictions. All you have to do is let your barista know that you're vegan and would like it dairy-free, and you're all set to enjoy the goodness just like everyone else. Starbucks is not going to leave you out on this one; the company want everyone to enjoy the magic that a Unicorn Frappuccino has to offer.
The folks at Starbucks know about all the different allergies and a diet rules and will probably be already putting your vegan drink together before you can say "no whip." They know the drill. So head over to Starbucks, allow some time to wait in line behind approximately 200 people who are really excited to finally have something on the menu with such magical colors that they can order, and get your unicorn hooves around the very limited, very spring treat.
And obviously, don't forget to take a picture or two — this mystical drink will roll in and out with the same whimsy. In a few months, the Unicorn Frappuccino will just be a fever dream of the past. People will wonder if it actually ever even happened. It will seem crazy, like that one time that Margaret Cho and Quentin Tarantino dated. But then the same people will look on Instagram and Twitter and realize that yes, it was a very real thing. The Unicorn Frappuccino was trending higher than the daily news on April 19, the day it debuted, and nearly everyone who saw a picture of it online zombie-walked (just like me) to the nearest Starbucks to get their own. Because, rainbow colors.
So go, go be a part of history. Get your Unicorn Frappuccino and Instagram it, Tweet it, Snap it, Facebook update about it, Periscope it, put it in your top eight on MySpace. Immortalize the drink and your experience with it. You'll both go down in colorful history, together.
