Kylie Jenner Will Be Having Her First Child Soon — REPORT
According to the New York Daily News, Kylie Jenner is due to have her first child with her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott. Although the couple hasn't confirmed it, TMZ reported Friday that both Jenner and Scott have told their friends the news, with Jenner first mentioning it to loved ones in early September at the Day N Night festival in southern California. Sources also told TMZ that Scott has told friends that he's having a girl — although the website couldn't confirm those reports.
UPDATE: In a post on Twitter, Kylie Jenner confirmed she gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Feb. 1. In the tweet, Kylie wrote:
"I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions. I understand you're used to me bringing you along an all my journeys. my pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself i needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free and healthy way i knew how. there was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal i had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness."
EARLIER: Jenner and Scott reportedly became close at the Coachella festival in April, and People reports that their baby is due in February. It will be Jenner's first child.
“They started telling friends a few weeks ago,” a source told People. “The family has known for quite some time. She is REALLY excited and so is Travis!” Another source close to the family told People that Jenner's pregnancy is "an unexpected but completely amazing turn of events that she could not be more excited or thrilled about."
Jenner isn't the only member of the Kardashian and Jenner family tree with a baby on the horizon: Kim Kardashian West, Jenner's half-sister, will be having her third child via surrogate; according to US Weekly, that baby is due in January.
According to US Weekly, rumors of Jenner's pregnancy circulated earlier in the week, when fans noticed that the pictures of herself she was posting on Instagram were either months old or only from the neck-up.
Jenner has been with Scott since around April, shortly after she and her on-again, off-again partner Tyga broke up. A rapper and singer, Scott is most notable for "Goosebumps," a downtempo hip-hop single he recorded with with Kendrick Lamar. "Goosebumps" has gone platinum, and Scott recently performed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! His most recent album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, reached number one on the Billboard 200.
According to multiple reports, Jenner's family is a big fan of Scott.
“Kylie and Travis are doing great. Things are so different from Tyga,” a source told People. “There is no drama with Travis. He is a cool guy. He treats Kylie with a lot of respect and love. Kylie is very happy.”
US quoted a source who said that Jenner's family "really likes" Scott. He reportedly gave Jenner a diamond necklace for her 20th birthday in August, after which they went to a Lamar concert and watched the Halle Berry film Kidnap with Khloe Kardashian, Jenner's half-sister, and Kardashian's boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
Although their relationship is a relatively recent development, Jenner and Scott reportedly have a friendship that predates their romantic involvement. A source told People in April that they'd been friends for "a while," and Scott performed at Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday party in November 2016. According to multiple reports, Scott and Jenner are very affectionate around each other, and one source told People that the two have matching butterfly tattoos on their ankles.
“They started telling friends [about Jenner's pregnancy] a few weeks ago,” a source told told People. “The family has known for quite some time. She is really excited and so is Travis!”
The reports of Jenner's pregnancy come just one day before the airing of the 10th anniversary special of Keeping up with the Kardashians, the reality show responsible for introducing the many members of the Jenner and Kardashian family to mainstream audiences.
Jenner began appearing regularly in Keeping up with the Kardashians since she was just nine years old. She launched her own cosmetics line in 2015, and now also stars in her own reality show, Life of Kylie, on E!.
