I'm going to admit something: Mama June: From Not to Hot on WE tv has totally become my Friday night guilty pleasure, and last night we finally got a glimpse of Mama June Shannon's new look after weight loss. According to People, Shannon went from a size 18 to a size 4 in her quest to look her best for her ex's wedding. She lost the weight in part due to a gastric sleeve (a procedure which reduced the size of her stomach), but primarily because of her hard work and diligent exercise regime with personal trainer Kenya Crooks.

First though, I do feel like I need to confess that I'm not necessarily a fan of the show's name. "From Not To Hot" seems to suggest that Shannon wasn't attractive before she lost any weight, which is something I disagree with; you can definitely be "hot" no matter what size you wear. But anyway, as someone who has also lost a significant amount of weight — I dropped about 80 pounds a few years ago — I've been quite interested in Shannon's journey.

Over the past few weeks us viewers have watched Shannon's dramatic transformation on her docu-series, which has definitely included plenty of hilarious Honey Boo Boo moments. Following her weight loss, Shannon then went under the knife to have excess skin removed, as well as a breast augmentation. Which I think is well deserved, as most people who've lost a large amount of weight will agree, the resulting excess skin can be quite disappointing.

After healing from her surgeries, Shannon did a photoshoot in the dress she plans to wear to her ex's wedding, and wow — her transformation is unarguably dramatic.

"I’ve worked my ass off working out getting healthy," Shannon said during the March 31 episode of her show. "And now I feel like becoming the person on the outside that I always felt like on the inside." While the episode was airing, Shannon also tweeted a message to fans noting how hard she worked, and that she's continuing to work hard everyday.

All else aside, I think it's inspiring that Shannon shared her journey with the world. Shannon's transformation definitely shows that with hard work and dedication you can accomplish almost anything.
