Sexually expressive women have long been shamed and stigmatized for their desires, and the patriarchal powers love to propagate the pejorative bimbo archetype because smart, sex-loving women are scary as hell. Thankfully, WoodRocket's new video uncovering porn stars' education backgrounds proves what many of us already know: that you can indeed be well-educated and have sex on camera.
Historically, women have had to majorly tone down their sensual side to convince the world that they have equal brain power. At the same time, women who choose to profit off their bodies and sexuality are often assumed to be less than brilliant. There's a reason why models and dancers and porn stars are thought of as "dumb" — it's because many folks can't get over the mega mindf*ck of women having the ability to dominate physically AND mentally, so the myth persists.
It's no coincidence that the first woman to run for president also happened to be a sex worker, or that many of our favorite porn stars have educational backgrounds that would put some of us to shame. Although there are people of different intellectual abilities in all professions, let's hear it for the adult entertainers who bust stereotypes with their diverse degrees.
