Selena Gomez Attends The Weeknd's Show
While they have yet to publicly confirm a romance, no distance seems able to keep Selena Gomez and The Weeknd apart. And every week their love seems harder to deny. The two have jet set to multiple countries together and seem determined go on every #goals date possible, whether it's riding gondolas in Italy or visiting a beautiful Toronto aquarium. However, the glue that brought them together has always been the music, starting with when they performed together onstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2015. The two continue to support each other musically and on Sunday, Gomez appeared backstage at The Weeknd's performance at Lollapalooza Brazil.
Gomez and The Weeknd's trip to Brazil got off to a bit of a rocky start, as the stars were trailed by overzealous fans. However, the rattling experience didn't stop The Weeknd from taking the stage on Sunday, performing at the festival in Brazil as part of his "Starboy: The Legend of the Fall" world tour.
Gomez was photographed in the wings of the stage grinning at her rumored BF, and even appeared on the big screen at the show bobbing her head and enjoying the tunes. Fan accounts on social media captured Gomez's brief cameo during the performance, posting pictures and videos as evidence of the romance between the two singers.
It's clear from Gomez's smiles that she is loving the music, and whether or not she is in a relationship with The Weeknd, she for sure is showing up to support his musical career.
Gomez's presence at the show wasn't really a secret, and both she and The Weeknd recorded the event on Instagram. A backstage vid was posted to Gomez's live Instagram story, and The Weeknd posted an appreciative post from the performance.
While neither of these posts confirm a romance between the two stars for sure, it's clear they at least have a mutual appreciation for each other's music. In the past few months, Gomez has also showed up to see The Weeknd perform in Amsterdam and, according to Teen Vogue, even skipped out on the Oscars to catch his show in Switzerland. Sure, that doesn't necessarily mean anything other than friendship, but that's an awful lot of travel time to support someone who's just a pal.
It does seem that these two are more comfortable appearing in public as of late. The two have popped up on each other's Instagrams, and have repeatedly been spotted out and about together. According to ET, Gomez arrived at the Brazilian festival alongside The Weeknd and left the event with him, as well.
If the dish on Gomez and The Weeknd's relationship status isn't in the future, one can perhaps hope a musical collab might be. Given how much these stars appreciate and support each other's careers, it might not be totally out of the question.
