Everyone from Kendall Jenner and Justin Beiber has starred in their own My Calvins campaign in recent years, but none have actually staged it themselves. Until now, that is. According to Fashionsita, Solange Knowles curated the latest Calvin Klein campaign, and it turned out amazing. Clearly. Is there anything that this woman can't do? Rhetorical question.
Forget everything you know about #MyCalvins, because it's morphing into something much bigger than just pretty people in their undies. Calvin Klein didn't just ask Solange to be in their latest campaign. They asked her to pick her "musical family" to be with her. The singer choose four of her talented friends to accompany her in the Our Family. #MyCalvins campaign. They include R&B singer Kelela, singer Dev Hynes, musician and songwriter Caroline Polachek, and musician Adam Bainbridge, who goes by Kindness.
"The evolved #MYCALVINS concept has family at its center, a display of unity between strong individuals, further emphasized by the symbolism of the traditional American quilt," the brand said in a press release.
Basically, the #MyCalvins message is evolving, and they needed a little help doing that. The message has gone from one of sexiness and mystery to something that brings people together.
The campaign includes shots of Solange sitting by herself in what looks like a vacant barn, as well as photos of her friends all posing together. The group sports a variety of different denim-on-denim and classic Calvin Klein looks in the images.
Despite the fact that Kelela said in her tweet that the shoot was "so easy" because it felt like a hang, the campaign is an advertisement. That means that you can buy every single item that the group is wearing.
The clothing ranges from $10 to $148 for everything from cotton bras, tank tops, jeans, and jean jackets.
These musicians are wearing everyday items that you probably already have in your closet, but they take it above and beyond by just being themselves. If this is the direction that Calvin Klein is heading, then it's going to be on heck of a ride.
Although the campaign hasn't only been out for a mere few hours, people are already loving what they're seeing. From the singer's bright blonde hair to her creative ability, people are praising it all.
Ugh. How can one group of talented friends be so cool?
Exactly. How does one join this super fun, denim-wearing club? Asking for a friend.
Such a powerful, talented squad.
This person makes a great point. Solange has had a lot of great hairstyles in her day, but this is definitely one to pause and acknowledge.
These emojis capture how Solange's fans are feeling.
Be careful, you will never be the same person you once were after seeing this image.
This also means that a music collab is on the way, right?
Forever and ever.
When's the last time you saw a jean-on-jean outfit that was sexy?
Something tells me that Solange might be getting a call back from Calvin Klein to curate campaigns more often. Because this is one heck of a shoot.
