The 'Doubt' Cast Makes A Seriously Impressive Team

Jeff Neumann/CBS

The new series on America's "most popular network" marks a return to television or the next major role for a lot of established actors from the small screen. It's honestly like a jambalaya of people from shows you've obsessed over in the last decade. The cast of Doubt on CBS makes up an impressive and powerful team. Just the fact that Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox are on a show together is incredible, and the star power doesn't end with them.

Doubt is a workplace legal drama where lines are crossed when one of the attorneys, Sadie, falls for one of the clients, Billy. According to the official CBS press release, "Sadie’s decision to become involved with her client could put her career, as well as her happiness, at risk if Billy is found guilty, which means she needs to work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even if she has some herself."

The creators, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, also wrote for Greys Anatomy and Madam Secretary. They definitely know how to bring both the drama and the sneaky romance. Even if the courtroom isn't your thing, you must admit that the cast is pretty stacked. I'm not even kidding, take a look:

Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis

Neil Jacobs/CBS

The former Grey's Anatomy actor and rom-com queen stars as Sadie. Her character is described by CBS as "a brilliant attorney at a boutique firm who starts to fall for her charismatic client."

Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth

Michael Yarish/CBS

She's still on Orange Is The New Black and on this series plays "a transgender Ivy League graduate who fights passionately for her clients since she’s experienced injustice first hand."

Dulé Hill as Albert Cobb

Monty Brinton/CBS

If you don't know him from The West Wing than you surely remember him from Psych. Two megahits. Albert is Sadie's coworker who, according to CBS, "thinks he knows everything about her."

Dreama Walker as Tiffany Simon

JoJo Whilden/CBS

She starred in the cancelled-too-soon sitcom Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23 and hasn't been seen all that much since, so this is really exciting. She plays "a second-year associate who is quickly learning the ropes from Wirth."

Elliott Gould as Isaiah Roth

John Paul Filo/CBS

A Veteran actor known for his role in the movie M.A.S.H as well as the Ocean's Eleven films. He plays their boss at the firm, "a revered legal lion and 'lefty' legend, whose approval is their holy grail."

Steven Pasquale as Billy Brennan

Paul Sarkis/CBS

As the client Sadie is trying to hide her feelings for, Billy is "an altruistic pediatric surgeon recently accused of murdering his girlfriend 24 years ago," according to CBS. Pasquale has been seen on The Good Wife, The People Vs. OJ Simpson, and Bloodline also a Broadway star who played the lead in a musical adaptation of The Bridges Of Madison County.

Kobi Libii as Nick Brady

JoJo Whilden/CBS

The only somewhat newcomer in the bunch, Libii still has plenty of credits, including Alpha House, Transparent, and Madam Secretary. On Doubt, Nick is "a former felon who earned his degree while serving time."

Seriously, there is someone for every kind of TV fan on this show. It'll be fun to see how they all work together, case by case.
