The One Product You Need If You Have Rosacea

by Jessica Thomas

If you've ever dealt with rosacea, you know that the pesky inflammation that can flare up on your cheeks when you're stressed, hot, cold, drinking or just going about day-to-day life can be a huge nuisance. My fair, sensitive skin is prone to some rosacea on my cheeks and chin, and I've spent my fair share of time (and money!) trying to cover it up. Despite all the different products I've tried, I always ended up in the same place: My makeup would slide off my the middle of the day, letting my rosacea peek through once again. But I finally found the one product you need if you have rosacea, and it's IT Cosmetics' Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream.

I first heard about the product a few months ago, but I'm a serious researcher when it comes to my Sephora purchases, so I did a lot of sleuthing before I finally bit the bullet. What finally convinced me was the video on IT Cosmetics' YouTube page of cofounder Jamie Kern Lima demonstrating how to use the product. After watching it buff away redness instantly, I knew I had to try it out. And spoiler alert: I've been totally impressed.

The Bye Bye Redness Color Correcting Cream is a neutral beige cream that's designed to be worn on its own or under makeup. You buff a small amount of the product onto your skin using a makeup brush, and it instantly neutralizes redness and blurs imperfections.

According to IT Cosmetics, the product is as follows:

"Rich in anti-aging peptides, colloidal oatmeal, hydrolyzed collagen, aloe and avocado, it camouflages any red-toned skin discolorations including rosacea, broken capillaries, blemishes, skin irritations, sun damage, scars, age spots and more."

Sounds like the perfect solution to a lot of skin care woes, right?

Bye Bye Redness comes in one color, called Transforming Neutral Beige. Although it's not a perfect match for every skin color, if you start with Bye Bye Redness and follow with your foundation, you'll still get its redness neutralizing powers. And although it does a seriously good job covering up redness, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all.

As you can see from these before and afters, it does a good job of smoothing out my complexion without looking overdone.

The best part about Bye Bye Redness is that it actually doesn't budge. When I apply a small amount in the morning, I expect it to last all day. Although the jar it comes in is small, you only need to use a tiny amount to see results. And at $32, it's not a crazy price point. And trust me — if you suffer from rosacea, it's worth it.
