Besides an epic football game, the Super Bowl boasts some of the most anticipated trailers of the year. In 2017, a new Marvel trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 dropped before the big game even began. But what exactly is that entirely catchy song in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer?

The extremely upbeat song used in the Super Bowl TV spot is called "The Chain" by none other than Fleetwood Mac. From their album Rumours, "The Chain" was released in 1977, making it 40 years old. This song selection makes a whole lot of sense — Guardians of the Galaxy's protagonist, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is obsessed with music from his childhood, and the entire movie is narrated with 1970s classics.

Choosing this song for the new trailer means that Guardians 2 will likely continue the trend of including popular 1970s rock songs in the film. The music of the first film proves to be a major plot point as Star-Lord carries around a tape with him called "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" — a present from his late mother.

The first film featured beloved tracks like "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede, "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" by Elvin Bishop, and "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5. Clearly, this Marvel franchise has only touched the surface of the feel-good disco hits of the era, and Guardians 2 should be the perfect opportunity to dive deeper into the era's discography.
