This Bride's All Male Bridal Party Is Precious

by Lara Rutherford-Morrison

Photoshoots of bridal parties in matching robes, sipping mimosas, are nothing new, but this one — featuring a bunch of dudes, in pink satin, no less — is a refreshing take on the tradition. In Brazil, bride Rebeca Abrantes had an all-male bridal photoshoot with her guy friends, and the images funny, sweet, and charming as all get out.

Abrantes, 24, is in a very male-dominated field — computer engineering. In her class of 60, she’s one of only four female students, and so, unsurprisingly, she has a lot of male friends. She decided to bring them into the wedding festivities — including the bridal photo shoot. “I came up with the idea one week before the wedding. I was looking into some ‘making of’ pictures of brides with their gang of girls, all in robes, laughing, drinking champagne and all, and I got a bit sad because I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that,” Abrantes told Bored Panda. In the end, Abrantes chose to buck tradition and have a bridal shoot — with a twist.

“The photoshoot was super fun,” she told Bored Panda. “Everyone was taking shots of cheap booze and sometimes we were laughing so much that we had to take some time to recover and go on with the photos.”

How stinking cute are these? (Photos by Fernando Duque.)
