This Reddit Skin Care Hack Will Save You A Ton Of Money

by Kali Borovic

Let's be honest, there are tons of weird beauty hacks out there. But instead of rubbing red lipstick all over your under-eye or applying your foundation with an hardboiled egg, this hack won't cost you any money or your pride. One Reddit user found a way to save money on skin care, and it's genius. It turns out all you need is your almost finished product and a pari of scissors to save some serious cash.

The internet is filled with tons of great tips out there, but this could be the best one yet. Reddit user Callievee cut open her eye cream tube after no more would squeeze out, and she found that there was still a ton of product left. I'm talking weeks worth of product, people!

Good skin care is hard to find, and, most of the time, it will cost you. So saving money in any way is important. When it's as easy as snipping off the top of a tube, you really can't pass this up.

"And this, ladies, is why you cut open you makeup/skin care when it's not letting you squeeze any more out," Callievee wrote. "Look how much of my okay eye cream is left!!!"

It didn't take long for other users to weigh in either. People hopped in on the thread to say that they've used this hack on everything from shampoo and conditioner to makeup as well. One user even said there was weeks left of product in the tube. Another suggested using a rolling pin to roll over the tube before you cut it open.

There is one catch though. When your skin care is left open, it loses potency. So if you're going to try the hack, be sure to fold the top over and clip it down after cutting the top off.

Who knew saving money was so easy!
