These Tweets About Dany’s Fate In The ‘GoT’ Finale Are Super Emotional
Major spoilers for the Game of Thrones series finale ahead. Even if you sensed this was coming on Game of Thrones, that moment when Jon kills Dany in the finale of the award-winning series Game of Thrones was still stunning, to say the least. And then there are the tweets about Daenerys' death on Game of Thrones, which are memorializing the Mother of Dragons despite her recent war crimes. At least she'll be remembered for her entire arc, not just her ultimate succumb to the poisonous power of the Iron Throne.
In the final episode of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow added another title to his name. First he was the Bastard of Winterfell. Then Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, and King in the North, and secretly Aegon Targaryen, heir to the Seven Kingdoms. Now, the true Northerner became Queenslayer. He did what he unfortunately had to do and stabbed Daenerys Targaryen before she could "liberate" everyone in Westeros with fire and blood.
The scene itself was tragically beautiful, which was reflected in a lot of Twitter's reactions. As evident from the below tweets, there was no one way to react to the moment when Jon embraced his lover and aunt before killing her; some were sad, some were saying it was about time, and others were probably just sobbing over Drogon incinerating the Iron Throne and flying away with her body.
Some people got emotional
If you weren't crying before, this Lion King comparison surely did the trick.
Seriously, hearts melted like the Iron Throne moments after this scene.
If you can't see it, it didn't happen.
She was so close!
When anger beats sadness.
Some honored her legacy
The only Mother of Dragons.
No matter what you think about Dany and her recent rise into madness, her character is truly legendary.
Not even a mention after her death.
Remember her at her best!
"A true Khaleesi."
Whoa.
Some found humor in it all
Laugh through the tears.
The Beyoncé of Game of Thrones.
Was Drogon's fire breathing moment terrifying? Yes. Was there any other option for him (other than to burn Jon Snow alive)? No, it needed to happen to honor his mother.
While losing Daenerys is bittersweet, especially following her arc in the last few episodes, you've got to give it up for such an incredible character over the last eight seasons. As many Twitter users have said: she is legendary and a true Khaleesi.
