Taylor Is Getting Another Chance In 'Bachelor In Paradise'

by Mary Kate McGrath

Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor left him with a promising top four, but throughout the season there was one source of tension: the clash between Taylor Nolan and Corinne Olympios. Unfortunately, on Nick's season, Taylor's storyline was dominated by drama, and the star never got a serious chance to pursue love with Nick. In the new season of Bachelor in Paradise, Taylor might get a chance to redeem herself in the audience's eyes, and enjoy some of the romance that was missing from her time on Nick's season. Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 premieres on Monday, Aug 14.

In the months after Taylor was on The Bachelor, she spoke out against the online backlash she faced. The 23-year-old mental health counselor was well known for her arguments with Corinne, and was sent home during a two-on-one date in New Orleans. This narrative reportedly hurt Taylor's counseling career after the show. The star had recently graduated from Johns Hopkins University when she was cast, and after the series aired, it was difficult to return to the field of her choice.

"It sucks because it's something that I'm very passionate about and I take a lot of pride in, so I’m hoping to get back to that stuff soon, once some stuff has died down and it feels a little safer to be in that environment one-on-one," Taylor Entertainment Tonight. "Sometimes I feel really low, and I feel like I'll never be able to work again as a counselor , but I know that's not true, and it's just a temporary thing."

Taylor will get a second chance at romance on the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise. With some distance from her last appearance on the show, she may get a chance to date without getting caught up in interpersonal disputes. Of course, the franchise is known for stirring confrontation, even in paradise. However, that hasn't stopped certain couple's from starting a successful relationship on the series, like Evan Bass and Carly Wadell or Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert. Hopefully, Taylor will get a chance to make more positive connections, especially with some of the season's eligible suitors.

The conflict between Corinne and Taylor definitely prevented the latter from pursuing Nick, as her time on the show was largely consumed by the feud. Nolan made the mistake of spending much of her one-on-one time with Nick discussing Corinne's shortcomings and the drama of the house. This is a mistake that contestants often make on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, and it seems like a choice that drama hungry reality-television producers would likely encourage. The two star's dispute ended in a tense two-on-one date in New Orleans, where Taylor was ultimately sent home. She returned momentarily to warn Nick that she felt Corinne was the wrong choice.

This next appearance on the series might be a chance for Taylor to make a different impression on fans and perhaps a new love.
