Bite Beauty's Lip Pencils Aren't Like The Rest

by Kali Borovic

It might be only a month into the new year, but the new beauty arrivals are in full swing. As their second bit lip launch of the year, Bite Beauty created The Lip Pencil. This isn't your average pout-defining product though. How is The Lip Pencil different from others on the market, you ask? There are a few aspects that make it stand out from the rest.

When most people think of a lip pencil, they think of a bulky product that's similar to lipstick but in pencil form. Well, this time it's a little different. There are a few key differences between Bite Beauty's The Lip Pencil and other lip crayons and pencils on the market. The first is the shape. This product looks almost exactly like a skinny pencil that you'd write with, more like a lip liner.

The other major difference is that, according to Instagram, these pencils are silicone-free and made with whipped shea butter. The Lip Pencil's formula is said to be the lightest yet from Bite Beauty, and the product description says that it feels like nothing on the lips.

All of the shades are currently up for preview on the Sephora website, where they will be sold, but there's no official launch date beside that they will be out sometime in February. You can sign up for email updates on The Lip Pencil Sephora page to be the first to know.

There's also another major difference — the shades. Instead of picking on-trend colors, the company decided to base them off of natural lip hues. According to their Instagram, all 22 neutral shades were inspired by natural lip tones. The Lip Pencil colors range from nude pink to rich mahogany.

The Lip Pencils are $18 each. That's less expensive than their Amuse Bouche line, which are $26 each. Consider that you get three times less the amount in the new on-the-go lip form, the lower price makes sense.

Although the product has yet to launch, it already has 506 "loves" on the Sephora website. I think it's safe to say that this will be a bestselling product. The Lip Pencil will be a permanent part of the collection, so you don't have to worry about it selling out before you get your hands on it.
