It’s almost time to re-watch your favorite vampires from the beginning. The final season of the Vampire Diaries will be on Netflix March 18, just a week after the series finale premiere on the CW. It seems fast, but it’s great news for fans who have been waiting to watch the entire season in one sitting. With the Vampire Diaries series finale upon us, it’s the perfect time to re-watch the show from the beginning, without interruptions or commercials. It’s going to be a long journey, but with the right friends, it’s the perfect winter activity.

The series will end with Damon and Stefan Salvatore battling their biggest enemy, Katherine Pierce, the woman who they loved, hated and who turned them into vampires. It all comes full circle at the end, doesn't it? Katherine has taken over the reins of hell and is attempting to bring Mystic Falls down once and for all. Talk about a woman scorned. Bonnie collapsed at the end of last weeks episode, triggering the spell on Elena to end and Vicki Donovan is ringing the bell that will bring back all of our dead favorites. It’s going to be epic.

In the meantime, before the final season comes to Netflix, let’s look back at some of the best episodes of the series. If you don’t feel like marathoning the whole thing, at least watch these classic moments.

The Pilot (Season 1, Episode 1)

Alan Markfield /The CW

Back where it all began, before their lives were in constant turmoil, the pilot is one of the best episodes to re-watch. The most dramatic moment about the entire episode is that Damon rolls into town with a crow and some fog effects. Classic. Not to mention, Caroline’s classic line, “We’re planning a June wedding,” has all the irony now.

Miss Mystic Falls (Season 1, Episode 19)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

This is really where we get a first look at Delena and all that it could be. Stefan is going through his ripper withdrawals and Damon must step in as Elena’s escort. No one can ever forget the blue dress she wears or the dance she shares with Damon.

The Return (Season 2, Episode 1)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

The long awaited return of Katherine Pierce. She rides into town like a bat out of hell, making out with Damon and chopping John Gilbert’s hand off. Then she turns Caroline into a vampire. All in all, it’s the first glimpse at the amazing Katherine.

The Descent (Season 2, Episode 12)

Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW

The best Damon moments are the ones where he’s a jerk, but also the hero. "The Descent," or most commonly remembered as the one where Rose dies, is a prime example of one of Damon’s best moments of the series. Damon is on the hunt for a cure to a werewolf bite and viewers finally get the truth about the werewolf bites being fatal to vampires. Damon spends his last moments with Rose in her memories and basically has a meltdown when she dies. It’s very emotional.

Klaus (Season 2, Episode 19)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

I would consider the moment we meet Klaus to be one of the most important episodes. We learn all about the original family’s past, why Elijah wants to kill him and we finally see what he looks like.

The End Of The Affair (Season 3, Episode 3)

Annette Brown/The CW

Who doesn’t love a good flashback episode? Klaus takes us on a journey into Stefan’s past when they first met in Chicago during the 1920s. There’s flappers, alcohol and rippers.

Ghost World (Season 3, Episode 7)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

All of our favorite dead vampires come back to the world of the living for the day because of Jeremy’s connection to the other side. We love a good Lexi cameo.

The Departed (Season 3, Episode 22)

Annette Brown/The CW

This is it. The last time we see Elena Gilbert as a human (for now anyways).

Stand By Me (Season 4, Episode 15)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

Nina Dobrev has the performance of her life in "Stand By Me" after she realizes her brother is dead. Her breakdown warrants a spot on this list.

Graduation (Season 4, Episode 23)

Curtis Baker/The CW

"Graduation" marks the end of life in Mystic Falls for the crew who are heading off to college in Season 5. Not to mention, the real reason it’s on the list is because this is when Klaus tells Caroline he intends to be her last love. Klaroline forever. We also learn Stefan is a doppelgänger right before he's locked into a safe and pushed into a quarry.

Gone Girl (Season 5, Episode 15)

Tina Rowden/The CW

The long awaited death of Katherine Pierce. Worth every second and the best part, she’s so evil, she’s not allowed to go to the other side. She gets wiped away and as of last week, we know she went to hell.

Welcome To Paradise (Season 6, Episode 3)

Bob Mahoney/The CW

This episode is the first time we meet Kai Parker, it’s the start of Bon Bon and Damon’s friendship and Caroline realizes she likes Stefan. All the feels about this episode.

Stay (Season 6, Episode 14)

Annette Brown/The CW

Liz Forbes passes away in one of the most emotional episodes in the Vampire Diaries history. If you don’t cry watching this, then you have no heart.

I'm Thinking of You All the While (Season 6, Episode 22)

Tina Rowden/The CW

This has to be on the list since it’s the last time we see Elena Gilbert until the series finale. Everyone comes back to say bye after a devastating episode where Kai murders pretty much everyone.

Moonlight on the Bayou (Season 7, Episode 14)

Annette Brown/The CW

Who doesn’t love an Originals and Vampire Diaries crossover episode? Stefan heads to New Orleans to seek Klaus’ help in getting rid of Rayna Cruz.

Gods and Monsters (Season 7, Episode 22)

Tina Rowden/The CW

The Season 7 finale will get you completely ready for Season 8’s Netflix arrival on March 18.

Happy watching!
