Where To Buy Marc Jacobs' New Matte Liners

by Rachel Nussbaum

Lest you thought matte would stop at our lips, our nails, our skin, Marc Jacobs' new eyeliner is here to prove the finish won't be happy until it consumes us whole. And when it looks like this, eh, sure. Liners aren't exactly known for their super glossy finish, so matte eyeliner isn't as huge a spin as it was in more dewy departments — but surprising or not, their new take adds high impact color to every look. Available in maroon, lavender, and more, here's where to buy Marc Jacobs' new Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon.

The liner is a redux on the brand's classic Highliners, and good news for diehard fans of the waterproof, gliding formula — it's just got a new matte look, for those cases you want nary a shine on your whole being. Focusing on creamy, "extreme" colors, the liners will be available in the US and Canada at Sephora, Marc Jacobs' website, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. Online, you can grab them on Jan. 27, while they'll make their ways to stores Feb. 17. In the UK, they'll be online Feb. 14 from John Lewis and in stores Feb. 24, and will be online at Harrods and in stores March 1 on.

Fans of Urban Decay's matte liners know the difference a finish makes — in the 24/7 line, the mattes' color payoff is deeper, super pigmented and ultra smooth. The Highliner formula is equally as excellent, so if they follow precedent this'll be a liner to watch out for (especially given every color's matte match).

Paired with the brand's new hues of O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara, Marc Jacobs is betting on a spring of bold, vibrantly matte color.

A monochromatic look would definitely be a Pop Art vision to give, or roll the dice and pair eggplant liner with turquoise mascara. Maroon liner and indigo lashes? There's no end to the color combos, a welcome mix coming from our endless days of black.

Best of all, the high-impact mattes mean you don't have to worry about liner disappearing against bold mascara. Whole new color horizons, open for the exploring.
