In a tumultuous time like the present, the fashion industry is taking its stance on political issues now more than ever before. From the #TiedTogether white bandanas to the "I Stand With Planned Parenthood" buttons left on seats of fashion show guests, the fashion world is making sure its voice is known and heard. Arguably one of the most powerful statements made yet occurred during Prabal Gurung's Fall 2017 ready-to-wear show, which appeared to be inspired by women empowerment. If his collection alone wasn't enough to convince you, Prabal Gurung had his models wear feminist t-shirts and equal rights shirts during the finale.
While movements and showing support is incredibly powerful, sometimes letting your voice be heard in a simple t-shirt is enough, and in a venue such as Fashion Week, it's bound to be seen by plenty.
Prabal Gurung showed these statement-making shirts in the FW17 fashion show, and has stated that they will be available for retail as soon as the rest of the collection hits stores.
Here's a peek at what they looked like:
No she won't.
Well done, Prabal!
Find out what it means to me!
The bloggers came out in full support.
He, of course, had to wear one too.
Since they won't be available for a while, I've rounded up some equally as awesome feminist tees to rock until Gurung's come out.
