The most obvious way to find a superhero might be their suit, but it turns out that what they wear from day to day is just as great. As Racked found, the slogan tees in Spider-Man: Homecoming are pretty great. The graphic tees are witty, fun, and all based around STEM. Oh, and you can buy them all for under $25 each as well. I think it's safe to say that you've never met a superhero that dresses quite like this before.
While most superheroes are busy living in mansions and driving around priceless cars, Spider-Man: Homecoming is a little different. In the movie, Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, is a high school student who transforms into Spider Man at night. He seems to have some pretty quirky style for his non-superhero wear too.
As Racked points out, all of the graphic tees that Holland wears in the film are all STEM-centered with science jokes and puns on them. One of them reads, "if you believe in telekinesis, please raise my hand." The others are more science-centered, like one that says, "the physics is theoretical, but the fun is real."
According to Racked, costume designer Louise Frogley chose the tees on purpose. “The idea was that the school that he was going to was for gifted children, who are gifted in the sciences, and that some of them were very nerdy and they would think that kind of T-shirt was really funny,” Frogley tells Racked. “Peter Parker was sort of nerdy but not, and it was sort of like a sarcastic response, I think, to wear a nerdy, silly T-shirt.”
Every single one of the shirts is available online right now. For less than $25, you can stock up on the exact Peter Parker-esque tees too. Even the Silvia Plath tee that Zendaya wears in the film is up for grabs. Here are the exact tees, so you can make STEM cool.
Now that's a superpower.
