At long last, it's Hometown Date time on The Bachelor. With only four women left vying for Nick Viall's heart, the competition is fierce, but Vanessa Grimaldi has proven herself to be quite the contender. On Monday night, Vanessa and Nick will head to her hometown Montreal, so who are Bachelor star Vanessa Grimaldi's parents? There isn't a ton of information out there about them, but she did once post a throwback photo of them on her Instagram account. Last year, Vanessa shared a throwback photo of her mom on Instagram, and hashtagged it #wcw. "Go momma! That's my momma!" she wrote in the caption. And as you can see below, there's definitely a resemblance between mother and daughter.
As fans know from Vanessa's official Bachelor bio, family is definitely important to the Canadian contestant: "I respect my family's opinions as they usually are right in the end," she said, noting that her family's approval of her future spouse would be "very important." Last month, Vanessa told Glamour about how Nick's closeness to his family first attracted her to him. "I saw him on Andi’s season when they went to his family’s house for the hometown date, and I just fell in love with how close he is to his family," she said in the interview. "I come from a very traditional Italian family, and I’m very close to mine. He seems real."
But the promo for the Hometown Dates episode, Vanessa can be heard saying, "I'm questioning whether my judgment is off." One of the fathers is also featured in the commercial, telling Nick that he doesn't think he can give Nick the blessing to marry his daughter, but it isn't specified whose dad (or male family member) that could be. The official ABC description of the episode provides the hint that "her father drops a bomb about Nick that has Vanessa questioning their relationship." It sounds like Vanessa's parents will have an eventful and emotional visit with Nick and Vanessa during the episode.
In addition the photo of her mom, Vanessa has posted a lot about the rest of her family on her Instagram account. She has posted photos of her nephews and nieces, as well as her dearly departed grandfather, who she calls "nonno" — which is the Italian word for grandpa. Vanessa told Nick about her grandfather's passing earlier in the season, and how it motivated her to join the show.
On Instagram, Vanessa captioned the below video of her grandpa, "Happens every time he hears me say a boy's name." Aww.
She has also posted cute photos with her adorable cousins. In the photo below, Vanessa is sporting bunny ears with them.
Vanessa has many photos on her IG account with her younger brother Patrick, including a video of her dancing while he cooks. "When the little bro takes care of you when you're on some dope a** cough medicine," she wrote in the video caption.
As a proud aunt, Vanessa shared many photos of her baby nephew. She wrote in the photo caption: "Never felt a love like this. Being a Zia is the greatest gift." (Zia is the Italian word for aunt.)
Family clearly means a lot to Vanessa, but fans will have to wait until Monday night to see if Vanessa's family takes a liking to Nick during his visit to Montreal.
