From Reality TV Star To Legal Trailblazer: Chelsey Mori Launches Unbound Legal For The Creator Economy
Chelsey Mori is disrupting the legal industry with Unbound Legal, blending AI, subscription pricing, and a creator-focused approach.

Chelsey Mori isn’t your typical lawyer — and that’s exactly why she’s disrupting the legal industry. As the founder of Unbound Legal, a modern law firm built to support the $500 billion creator economy, Mori is shaking up outdated legal services with a fresh approach that feels more Silicon Valley than stuffy law firm: Unbound Legal champions subscription pricing, cutting-edge AI, and lightning-fast turnarounds. Through innovations like DIY AI-powered contract playbooks, an AI digital clone of herself on Unbound Legal’s site, and even running her practice from a VR headset, Mori is reinventing modern legal support.
But how did she get here? Mori survived on piranha in the Amazon, competed in pageants, trained as a safari tracker, and traveled to all seven continents — twice.
Amidst these adventures, Mori earned degrees from Canada’s top business school and UC Berkeley Law. During law school, she competed and was a finalist on Bravo’s espionage reality show Spy Games, where former FBI, CIA, and Secret Service agents dubbed her “brilliant.”
But Spy Games was more than an adventure — it was a crash course in entertainment law. Mori gained insider knowledge of talent contracts and the legal complexities of entertainment from a creator’s perspective. This experience not only deepened her understanding of the challenges creators face but also gave Mori her first high-profile client — fellow co-finalist and YouTuber Christina Randall. “I no longer sign anything without Chelsey looking at it,” Randall says. “She got me out of a crazy termination fee and negotiated my rate higher.”
Mori launched Unbound Legal to tackle the inefficiencies and high costs of traditional law firms, which she describes as “outdated, corporate-centric, and painfully slow.” “I wanted to build a firm that was tech-forward, approachable, and tailored to the content economy,” she says.
Unlike traditional firms, the company publishes its pricing directly on its website. Clients can opt for unlimited in-house counsel services for a flat monthly fee. And for those who still prefer hourly rates, Mori’s rate is less than half that of a first-year associate at a big law firm. “The goal is to eliminate billable hours entirely,” she says. “Creators shouldn’t hesitate to get advice because they’re worried about unpredictable costs.”
Unbound Legal operates like a startup, integrating AI across its operations to streamline contract reviews, enforce intellectual property rights, and automate billing. To enhance accessibility, Mori created a digital clone of herself to answer questions and guide creators through her services on Unbound Legal’s website. Mori is also developing do-it-yourself AI playbooks designed specifically for content economy agreements. “Many creators and companies redline contracts using general AI tools like ChatGPT as a substitute for traditional legal advice to save on legal costs. Our job is to meet them where they are and protect them as best we can,” Mori explains. Accessible through a document plugin, these playbooks suggest redlines based on real attorney comments. Unlike generic AI tools, Mori’s playbooks offer tailored legal guidance — empowering creators to confidently redline contracts.
Mori’s connection to the creator world goes beyond contracts. You’ll find her at creator pickleball games, red-carpet events, and industry holiday parties. “My firm isn’t just built for the creator economy — it’s embedded in it,” she says. By actively participating in the spaces her clients occupy, she stays in tune with their evolving needs and challenges, ensuring her services remain relevant and relatable.
Serving a diverse clientele — from multi-hyphenate creators and fan monetization platforms to agencies and performers — Unbound Legal bridges the gap between outdated legal practices and the fast-paced digital world.
But Mori’s vision goes beyond making legal services accessible. “The future of law isn’t just smarter or faster — it’s more human,” she says. “It’s about meeting clients where they are, understanding their world, and making legal services fit seamlessly into their lives.”
As the creator economy continues to dominate mainstream media and commerce, Mori sees creators as more than entertainers — they’re mega-entrepreneurs driving cultural and economic change. “Creators are shaping the future of media, commerce, and culture,” she says. “They deserve legal representation that evolves with them.”
From scaling mountains to scaling her law firm, Mori’s journey embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of her clients. With Unbound Legal, she’s proving that innovation, empathy, and adaptability are the cornerstones of success in both law and the digital economy.
