Emily Bashforth

Qualifying as a journalist in 2018, Emily now works for Patient.info, where she writes editorial features on a range of topics relating to health. Simultaneously, she is an Entertainment Reporter for Metro and runs a blog.

Elsewhere, Emily works as a freelance writer, specialising in mental well-being. She shares her experiences with eating disorders to raise awareness and feels passionately about gaining better funding for ED services, and equal access to treatment for all. Emily is a Global Ambassador for Project Heal, an organisation helping break down barriers in accessing support for eating disorders.

She creates content across social media to offer education and advice for others, as well as amplify lesser heard voices from other communities.

Her work has been featured in a variety of publications, including Metro, BBC, Glamour, PinkNews, Healthline, Unilad, Wellcome Collection and InspireTheMind.

When she’s not typing away at her computer, Emily can be found getting competitive in a game of Scrabble or having solo bedroom dance parties listening to her ever growing vinyl collection
