Athleta & Kristin Juszczyk Made Something For The Girls

Yes, those girls.

Kristin Juszczyk’s style is anything but subtle. Now, she’s bringing that same creativity and intention to a project that’s deeply personal.

She teamed up with Bay Area brand Athleta to redesign their fan-favorite Train Free Bra for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The limited-edition design has a bold message: "Check These Out" in pink across the front band. "We wanted the bra to carry a message and a bit of buzz," Juszczyk shared. "It's a playful reminder for women to prioritize their breast health through self-checks or mammograms."

The vibe is playful, but pointed — featuring bold graphics and asymmetrical straps, with Juszczyk's signature and a pink ribbon on the back. Juszczyk describes the bra as being "for the girl wearing the bra and the girl walking by the girl in the bra."

“Athleta is a brand rooted in female empowerment, which aligns so closely with everything I stand for. It just felt like a natural fit,” Juszczyk continued. “Athleta really gets how to bring together performance, fabric innovation, and beautiful design and that’s exactly what we created. I really feel like we worked so well together in making sure that both of our brand aesthetics blended seamlessly.”

When was the last time you thought about the girls? Breast health often goes unspoken, screenings get pushed to next month, and warning signs slip by. But a message literally staring at you in the mirror (or across the gym) might actually get you to book an appointment. Early detection saves lives. This one’s personal for Juszczyk, whose mother died from breast cancer in 2012 after battling the disease for 14 years. Athleta is walking the talk here: 13% of sales go to Susan G. Komen, a nod to the approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S. who will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.

“We know early detection is key, which is why projects like this are important. When detected early, the survival rate is incredibly high, so encouraging women to prioritize their breast health is everything.”
