The Diamond Habit: Making Luxury Fashion Honest, Empowering, And Accessible
The Diamond Habit shows how lab-grown gems can let women enjoy luxury diamonds on their own terms.

Diamonds make for truly stunning additions to any set of luxury jewelry, but these precious gemstones have recently acquired some negative connotations due to the stigma and unethical practices tied to traditional methods of acquiring natural diamonds.
Founded by world-class interior designer Shelly Osadon, The Diamond Habit challenges the diamond industry’s many outdated and suppressive narratives surrounding what does and does not qualify as a legitimate gemstone.
By creating and selling lab-grown diamonds, The Diamond Habit provides all of the same beautiful artistry, brilliance, and luxury as mined diamonds do without invoking the same ethical baggage, reminding women that a diamond’s value depends on the woman who wears it.
Why The Diamond Habit Came To Be
Although Shelly comes from the world of interior design, where she has spent decades crafting spaces for highly influential people, she eventually found herself drawn to diamonds after realizing that qualities like light, proportion, detail, and emotional impact are just as important in jewelry as they are in interiors.
Shelly spent a considerable amount on natural diamonds over the course of her career, believing that, as the traditional industry suggested, only the most rare and beautiful of stones were worthy of collection. Over time, however, she found herself hesitating around her collection, viewing her pieces as too valuable and therefore stressful to wear freely. It was this moment of reflection that pushed her to question what luxury truly means in the modern world.
Her research soon led her to lab-grown diamonds, a kind of synthetically-created diamond that is chemically, physically, and visually identical to a natural diamond. Since high-quality lab diamonds share the same fire and luxury as natural ones without sharing in their lack of transparency, Shelly founded The Diamond Habit to make these luxurious, guilt-free diamonds available to women who wanted to wear diamonds designed to be lived in, enjoyed, and worn effortlessly.
Giving Women The Choice To Wear Diamonds Their Way
The Diamond Habit is set to launch its limited Studly Collection drop on December 1 of this year. Featuring an exclusive selection of diamond studs in a variety of styles, the Studly Collection promises to be the first of many entries in The Diamond Habit’s routine cycle of drops that will keep storegoers eager for more.
Adding to this excitement is the announcement of the Habit Cut diamond, a unique shape the company is currently developing to help its collection further stand out as a modern and sensible selection among luxury jewelry brands.
All of these options are ultimately curated to give women the opportunity to proudly wear luxury their way. The traditional industry has long had a firm hold on the diamonds women could wear and how they wore them, stifling creativity and freedom by way of outdated rules that fail to accommodate modern needs and sensibilities.
With The Diamond Habit’s lab-grown diamonds, women can wear diamonds boldly, beautifully, and without hesitation, defying the stifling standards that once dominated women’s choices in jewelry. No longer does a diamond’s value have to be tied to where it comes from; rather, its value can now be determined by the woman wearing it. Choice matters, and with The Diamond Habit, women now have the opportunity to make choices without traditional diamond-industry intimidation.
