First and foremost, acne can affect anyone at any time. “Acne is common and caused by blockage of the skin pores with excess oil, debris, and dead skin cells,” Dr. Laftah says. “This leads to the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads). This can also be accompanied by inflammation, caused by C.acnes bacteria, resulting in pimples and cysts.”
