4 Spring Beauty Looks We Can't Wait To Try

We’re always finding new ways to reinvent ourselves, and there's no better time to just go for it than spring. After all, this time of year is all about throwing out the old and bringing in the new. But beyond spring cleaning and swapping out hot coffee for cold brew, the change in weather also signals the time to reinvent our beauty. And it’s more than just switching to lighter and brighter colors — it’s also about taking the latest trends for a spin. Hello, graphic eyes and shiny lips!

Since there are a few key looks we’ve been eyeing – and envisioning ourselves debuting at the first al fresco brunch of the year – we’re thrilled to report that Ulta Beauty's 21 Days of Beauty is back, so we can add everything to our shopping carts that we need to master these trends.

In case it’s news to you, Ulta Beauty bring us this awesome savings event twice a year, and it definitely lives up to the hype, with products up to 50 percent off, plus exclusive Beauty Steals launching each and every day. And in true 21 Days of Beauty fashion, savings are on the coolest, newest products and cult-favorites, which we’ve used to create the four top beauty looks of the moment. Peep the trends to get major spring inspo, then stock up on everything you’ll need to get the look and more!

Eye Lights

Is there anything prettier than a double dose of color to bring on the new season? We think not. To keep the look from veering into “too much” territory, go brighter on the eyes using a vibrant shade, like purple, and more subtle on your pout with a spring pink nude lip. We used the Lime Crime Venus III Pressed Powder Palette in shades Beam and Dreamy to create this look. Pro tip: swipe on an eye primer first to prevent any fallout (it’s ultra glittery!). Forego regular eyeliner and use an angled brush dipped in the same pigmented shadows to create a quasi bottom liner. Different textures balance out this statement look: poppy glittery eyes and a subtle shiny pout don’t compete.

Swept Up In Romance

Pretty, romantic pinks and berries are taking center stage. The trick to making a monochromatic look like this work is by selecting different pinks with the same undertones or opting for one product on both lips and cheeks. The moisturizing plumping lip cream from Buxom gives you a just-kissed effect, and doesn’t come out too drawn-on or perfect (you know it’s working because it tingles as soon as you apply!). “I kept the color concentrated on the center of the lips and just feathered it out to look more plump,” explains on-set makeup artist Ashley Victoria. To get ultra fluttery lashes, apply a mascara primer first, then choose a buildable volumizing mascara like IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara.

Artful Liner

Work your angles in fun, geometric liner made to turn heads. Begin by channeling your inner artist using a liquid liner that’s reminiscent of a calligraphy pen. "The harder you push, the thicker the line will be,” Victoria tells us. And don’t psych yourself out: Too Faced new Better Than Sex Liquid Liner was three years in the making to create a formula and pen that would render application a cinch for literally anyone. When it comes to plotting the shape, draw a shorter cat eye and then connect it to a line directly above the crease. The trick is use the natural curve of your crease, but aim a little higher to give a more open appearance.

Patent Shine

Forget any memories of shiny skin being a bad thing, because a dewy finish is what this season is all about. Victoria says the key is prepping skin with a moisturizer — just stick to the high points of the face so you don’t end up looking greasy. (FYI: high points = cheekbones, brow bones, Cupid’s bow, nose, apples of your cheeks, and jaw bone.

“I love to use gloss on the eyelids, so when I saw the new Sugar Rush by Tarte Lip Oil and its consistency I thought it would be perfect on the lips and eyes because it’s not as sticky as your usual gloss,” Victoria tells us. To apply, she put a bit on her finger and then carefully tapped it onto the already-on shadow, being careful not to smudge. To amp up the glowiness factor, apply a generous amount of lip oil on your pout, and add some shine to the skin. Smashbox x Hoodwitch new Crystalized Shimmer Drops were added to cheekbones in a “C” shape, connecting to the under-brow bone; a few more drops were strategically placed on chest and arms.
