"Instabreast" Injections Are Now A Thing

by Lindsey Rose Black

As a former middle school bra stuffer (that's right, I said it), I know how real the bikini struggle can be for smaller-chested ladies. I've personally come to love my tiny little boobs, but for those seeking a bigger cup size without going under the knife, Charlotte's Book revealed "instabreast" injections, which give temporary breast enhancements, are now a thing. Worth it?

Originally produced to let women contemplating breast augmentation "try on" bigger boobs, the injection is a saline mixture injected directly into the breasts. Ouch. The effects can last up to 24 hours, but your body could absorb the solution within one to hours. Costing $2,500 to $3,500 dollars per injection, a few hours seems like a pretty minimal amount of time to party with your pumped up chest.

In regard to how safe any of this is, it's hard to say. Dr. Tracy Pfieifer, MD, told Charlotte's Book, "Injecting products into the breast is not a good idea ... There aren’t any studies to show that these injections are safe and don’t have effect on breast cancer development.”

Dr. Rowe is currently working on a longer-term "vacation boob" injection that could last up to two to three weeks, but the shots would have to pass rigorous FDA approval tests before they hit the market. Dr. Pfeifer remains skeptical, and suggests opting for a sexy swimsuit or dress to play up your already-perfect self. "You'll have similar, or even better results," she said, "than getting vacation breasts with zero risk and more money left in your bank." Who doesn't want that?

Other alternatives include inserts, 3-D printed models, and push-up bras. Below are three of my favorites when I want a boob boost.

1. Ella Gel Lace Push-Up Bra

This is hands-down my most beloved bra. It's comfortable, sexy, and gives me a natural looking level of va va voom.

2. Polka Dot Padded Push-Up Bra

Admittedly, I bought this bra because my man has a thing for white polka dots. I love that it's eco-friendly, the padding is chemical-free, and it's all made with organic cotton.

3. Bombshell Push-Up Bra

OK, on the days I am just like "damn, I want boobs and I want them now!" nothing beats Victoria's Secret bombshell bra. It isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but lemme tell ya, it gets the job done.
