Maria Menounos Will Be Great As E! News Co-Anchor
Big changes are happening on E! — and if you're a fan of E! News, you'll be seeing a whole lot more of this familiar face. Maria Menounos will officially be E! News' co-anchor, (replacing the TV personality Giuliana Rancic in the role) and it's a major step for this correspondent. Rancic announced that she would step down as an E! News anchor earlier this summer, but the network has waited several weeks before announcing her successor. While Rancic will remain on E! as a panelist on Fashion Police and as a co-host for Live From The Red Carpet, it will be Menounos who takes over Rancic's day-to-day duties on E! News — and the network couldn't have picked a better fit.
Truth be told, it's hard to imagine anyone but Menounos filling in for Rancic's slot — with her strong entertainment reporting background and history with the network, Menounos seems like an obvious choice for the co-anchor position. Menounos certainly has the experience and expertise for this new position: she has hosted plenty of television specials, conducted major celebrity interviews, and acted as the co-host of NBC's Extra. She has plenty of experience working in the entertainment sphere, and a slot on the E! News anchor team is the perfect place for her.
Here are a few of Menounos' best clips that prove why she will make an ideal anchor for E! News:
Her Ease With A-Listers
Menounos has such an ease with celebrities that she even got Jennifer Lopez to critique her booty shake.
Her Hard-Hitting Interview Skills
Menounos asked Laverne Cox challenging questions while respecting Cox's story.
Her Work On AfterBuzz TV
Menounos acts as a host for this online after show podcast and interviews some of your TV favorites. In the above clip, Menounos talks to Hollywood Cycle star Nichelle Hines about the benefits of indoor cycling. Clearly, she knows how to talk pop culture and make it relatable.
Her Impressions

Her Attitude
If there's anything that proves your ability to stay cool under pressure, it's Dancing With The Stars. Whatever the score she received, Menounos remained charming and upbeat — a necessary skill for daily work on E! News.
Menounos will take over for Rancic beginning Aug. 10.
