'Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale Is Ready To Show Off Her Edgier Side, So What Does She Have Planned For When Her 'PLL' Days End?
Even if you don't watch ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars, it's safe to say that you know something is going on with the show because the Internet is not holding back when it comes to talking about the Season 6A finale. But aside from that, regardless of whether you watch or not, you still may know some of the actresses and actors on PLL. For instance, Lucy Hale. Now that the actress has been on Pretty Little Liars for five years, Lucy Hale is ready to show off that she is a grown woman and take on some roles beyond Aria Montgomery.
The 26-year-old recently posed for an edgy shoot with V Magazine, and in her interview, told the magazine,
I was really excited to do something a lot more grown up and show a different side of me... What a lot of people don't know about me is that I do have two sides. I'm very professional and I'm very Type A when it comes to work, but I also have this pretty dark, almost provocative side to me as well. I'm just a petite girl with big eyes that looks really innocent, so they'd definitely be a little shocked to know certain things about me.
Now that Season 6A has come to a close, PLL fans are excited for the next half of this season, which will be followed by a seventh, and possibly final, season of the show. Season 6B of Pretty Little Liars will take place five years in the future, and the end has Hale thinking about her future, too. She made it clear when talking to V Magazine that she would like to explore some more mature roles when her run with PLL comes to a close:
I'll be done next October with [Pretty Little Liars] forever, which is exciting, but also scary at the same time because it's the next chapter of my life... I'm really looking forward to exploring different and darker roles.
So what does she have to look forward to? Hale shared that she is already tied to a new project, that isn't even announced on her IMDb page. She said,
There hasn't been a press release, so I can't say the title or anything, but I am doing, like, a really cool indie film in October. That's sort of the direction I want to head in. It's a little raunchy, so it'll be exciting. Most indie films shoot in 30 days... The fans of the show have sort of grown up with me, so it's a movie they can watch, but we'll push the envelope a little bit on it. It's a movie that's got a lot of heart, and morals, but the language! I get to drop the f-bomb every other line, which will be fun... This will be my first lead in a movie, which will be very exciting for me.
But just because she is looking forward to new, gritty film roles, that does not mean that she won't be missing PLL as much as its legion of devoted fans. She told E! News in the past, "I'll ride out Pretty Little Liars until it's dead because that has been such a launching pad for me and genuinely love and like the people I work with and I love the characters... There might be a movie but yeah, seven seasons will definitely end the show."
It's so hard to say goodbye, but fans won't need to miss Lucy Hale on their screen. She is ready for 2016 (and beyond) and is looking very fierce while doing so.
