'The Fosters' Won't Be Back For A Long Time

In just a few hours time, The Fosters Season 3 summer finale will be upon us. And while fans are undoubtedly eager to see how all of the drama continues to unfold, this episode also serves as a brutal reminder that we're about to be Foster-less for quite a while after this week. Odds are, many viewers are already well acquainted with the routine by now, but for those of you who are a little fuzzy on the details, here's a little refresher. Much like other ABC Family shows, The Fosters splits its seasons up into two parts, airing one half in the summer and the other half in the winter. This means that The Fosters Season 3B won't return until sometime this winter. And given the insanely humid temperatures outside, that's obviously still quite a long ways off.

Of course, I have no concrete evidence regarding Season 3B's premiere. (ABC Family has yet to announce a specific release date.) However, I've found that most networks are creatures of habit, so if ABC Family sticks to its usual routine over these last two seasons, The Fosters should be back on our screens at some point in January 2016. (And yes, I do realize how far off that feels.) But before you start spiraling into Foster withdrawal, here are a few other similar-type shows you can marathon that are guaranteed to help pass the time.

Pretty Little Liars

If you're looking for a new obsession, trust me when I say PLL is definitely the answer to all your prayers. When you're not too busy falling in love with Haleb, then you'll spend hours trying to figure out who the heck A really is. (You may want to avoid social media at all costs, though, for fear of spoilers.)

Switched At Birth

The title seems pretty self explanatory for this one. So if you're looking for another family-centric drama that's loaded with teen angst, this is the perfect series for you.
