September is right around the corner, which means pumpkin spice lattes by the mug, sweaters and boots emerging from closet drawers, and fashion festivities to commence soon. Kicking off this year’s jam-packed week of runway couture and street styles by the newsfeed, LC Lauren Conrad is making its NYFW debut, and I could not be more excited.
This reality star turned fashion designer knows no limits, and speaking as an avid fan of all things LC, I’d say making it to the NYFW runway stage has been a long time coming. Conrad’s signature dresses, flowing tops, and flaring skirts are simplistic but every bit classic. It was only a matter of time before we saw her make the transition from casual to couture.
The collection is set to showcase 35 LC originals, featuring some new pieces such as trousers, evening wear, and handbags. According to E! News, Conrad continues to maintain her line’s princess flair: The collection’s theme is inspired by “enchanted forests and modern day fairy tales.” Think Sleeping Beauty meets Elsa. Judging by the first photo of the collection, we can expect to find the 29-year-old’s familiar elegance represented in her debut runway collection, a key element to her label’s authenticity.
Coming soon exclusively on Kohls.com, LC fans will be able to get a behind-the-scenes peek at the runway collection and Conrad's journey to NYFW in three episodes entitled Design Inspiration, Coming to Life, and Shaping the Space.
If Conrad's past lines featuring Cinderella blue sweaters and Minnie Mouse inspired collars are any indication of her runway collection, I'm thinking this will be one of the few lines at fashion week that can directly translate from runway to street style, and cannot wait until it hits stores.
