Britney Spears Opens Up About Her New Album

by Alex Kritselis

This is the only thing I want to talk about for the next 24 hours: Britney Spears arrived at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night looking like something out of a pop music fairytale, and I have yet to catch my breath. That hair. That dress. That smile! I don't care what anyone says, the 33-year-old star is still the Princess of Pop. Speaking of which, Spears opened up about her much-anticipated new album during an interview with E! at the TCAs, revealing that she's currently "working with some women who are amazing writers." I like the sound of that! When asked to describe her upcoming material, she said: "I have ballads and, of course, dance music — fun cheeky sexy stuff." Wait a minute... fun, cheeky, AND sexy?? Those are the three things Spears does best!

I've been a Spears devotee since I first heard "...Baby One More Time" in the sixth grade, but I have to admit, I'm not super into her ballads. (I do, however, love "Everytime" and "Out from Under.") Generally speaking, I think she's at the top of her game when the tempo is quick and the material is light. So, in preparation for Spears' new album (which, let's be honest, already sounds incredible), let's revisit 10 of her most "fun cheeky sexy" songs to date:

"Piece Of Me" From Blackout (2007)

"Piece of Me" is the definition of "fun cheeky sexy."

"Work Bitch" From Britney Jean (2013)

It doesn't get much cheekier than yelling out "Go call the govuhnuh!" in a bad Cockney accent!

"I'm A Slave 4 U" From Britney (2001)

The "I'm a Slave 4 U" music video is almost too sexy. Almost.

"I Wanna Go" From Femme Fatale (2011)

"I-I-I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay, takin' out my freak tonight..."

"Anticipating" From Britney (2001)

What could be more fun than "Anticipating"? It's pure pop magic.

"Kill The Lights" From Circus (2008)

From the "Kill the Lights" pre-chorus:

Mr. Photographer

I think I'm ready for my close-up

Tonight

Make sure you catch me from my good side

Pick one

These other bitches wanna be me

Is that money in your pocket?

Or you happy to see me?

The attitude, the sass! "Kill the Lights" is so "fun cheeky sexy," it hurts.

"Radar" From Blackout (2007)

The robot effect on Spears' voice is oddly alluring...

"(I Got That) Boom Boom" From In The Zone (2003)

Remember the Ying Yang Twins?

"Toy Soldier" From Blackout (2007)

Yes, Blackout is pretty much perfect.

"How I Roll" From Femme Fatale (2011)

Last (but certainly not least!), I give you "How I Roll" — one of my very favorite songs from Femme Fatale. It's bubbly, it's weird, and it's so ridiculously fun.

I can't wait to hear what Spears has been working on in the studio.
