8 Celebs You Never Knew Were 'Bachelor' Fans
Celebrities! They're just like us. Even stars indulge in guilty pleasures; a surprising number of celebrities are Bachelor fans. There's a huge range of celebrities who count themselves among the many watchers of the show and its spinoffs The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, and for a variety of reasons. There are comedians who seem to be enjoying it for the laughs, stars who seem concerned about the show's implications, and young and old actors who are genuinely, un-ironically hooked.
It might seem surprising that celebrities are so invested in a show that creates artificial fantasies when their lives seem so fantastical to begin with. However, celebrities have traditionally been guests, fans, and contestants on the show. A lot of celebrities have made guest appearances on the Bachelor over the years, with Jimmy Kimmel and Amy Schumer appearing on the Bachelor and Bachelorette this year. While these stars have made their fandom well known, with Amy Schumer even petitioning for a spot on the show, there are quite a few celebrities who you would not expect to enjoy ABC's dating reality show.
Here are eight celebrities who you had no idea were fans of The Bachelor and its spinoffs.
1. Lea Michele
The Glee actress told Jimmy Fallon that she got hooked on Season 17, though she told Us Weekly that she now prefers UnREAL.
2. Andrew Garfield
Garfield has called The Bachelor "the greatest show on TV," telling Total Film that it's a good way to wind down. He also told Vulture that he would freak out if he ever met contestant Sean Lowe.
3. Brian Williams
The controversial anchor has been candid about his devotion to The Bachelorette, giving Seth Meyers an in-depth analysis of Andi Dorfman and Juan Pablo.
4. Taye Diggs
Everyone's favorite stage and screen actor is apparently addicted to The Bachelor. Back in 2012, he tweeted that he may have a problem.
5. Jason Biggs
The comedic actor has tweeted jokes about the show, using the punching bag that is Juan Pablo.
6-7. Charlize Theron (And Sean Penn)
Surprisingly, the former couple used to watch the show together, and Penn was Team Kaitlyn in this past season. Jimmy Kimmel was understandably pretty shocked to hear this.
8. John Mayer
Mayer told Ellen that he was obsessed with the reality show. Actually, that honestly isn't really a surprise.
See? Celebrities, they're just like us! Except, unlike us, there's a good chance that they might guest star on The Bachelor or its spinoffs one of these days and make our lives complete. The rest of us will have to settle for simply watching the show — or applying for a spot on a season, if we really want to be a part of the magic.
