'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Nabs Huge Role in 'Terminator' Remake

Terminator remake news alert: Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Cool, cool, cool. According to Deadline, the Game of Thrones star beat out Brie Larson for the role in the Skydance and Annapurna Pictures reboot of the trilogy. Actor Jason Clarke is in talks to play her son John Connor. Wait. How does that last part work? Are they going to put her in a bunch of old age makeup? That'd be strange. I'm freaking out. Oh. If I kept reading, I'd see that allegedly, there will be a time travel storyline. Okay. I can buy time travel. I can't buy Emilia as Jason's mother. Also, I love that they have the same last name. They were totally meant to be mother and son in a movie! Fate.

To be honest, I'm not mad about the remake. But I'm not excited about the remake, either (I'm not a huge Terminator fan to begin with. I know, I know. I'm a garbage person). At the very least, I hope it means a "Mother of Cyborgs" meme happens. Oh no. I've gone into that weird fanfic/crossover part of my brain again.

Wouldn't it be fun if the T2 3-D show at Universal Studios was mashed up with GoT? It'd be a disaster/dream come true.

The film will be released in 2015.
