8 Rihanna Songs Capricorns Need To Hear

by Caitlyn Callegari

Growing up, I hated my astrological sign. Like, Capricorns are represented by the goat? Really? Really?! I was so preoccupied with my friends’ astrological representations of lions, and maidens, and bears… (OK, there are no bears) to realize that, actually, I am a goat. I am such a goat. So, I suppose my Capricorn status is fitting, regardless of the less than adorable animal the sign is likened to. Except, you know, I don’t typically gnaw on household items or straight up garbage.

Accepting my Capricorn-ness also meant embracing those stereotypical traits that I am said to have being born under the sign. They aren’t all bad, though. Sure, we’re often seen as aloof and stubborn (hence the goat thing), but we are also often considered the hardest working and most ambitious of the signs. To put it mildly, we kick ass and are totally unapologetic about it. You know who’s a lot like that, despite not actually being a Capricorn herself? Rihanna. And, despite our can-do attitudes, sometimes we need a little motivation and emotional release, and what better way to do that than through music? Especially badass music, like that of Rih Rih.

Here are eight Rihanna songs for Capricorns:

1. "Breakin' Dishes"

Hell hath no fury like a Capricorn scorned. You're welcome for your new pissed off anthem, fellow goat people.

2. "Hate That I Love You," Ft. Ne-Yo

Because, supposedly, we're not very "open" about our feelings... but we do have them. Sometimes. We guess.

3. "Fire Bomb"

Pure, unadulterated Capricorn angst. Because there's gotta be a fair amount of tough, disastrous imagery in there to even out the sentimentality. Duh.

4. "Hard," Ft. Jeezy

Because, guys, we're like human steel. in a good way.

5. "Bitch Better Have My Money"

A great song for a hard earned Friday payday. Walking out of work with that direct deposit flowing, like a Capricorn on top of the damn world.

6. Jay-Z, "Run This Town" Ft. Rihanna And Kanye West

Us Capricorns, we like to be in control. So a song with a sick beat about running a whole town? Yes, please.

7. "Cheers (Drink To That)"

Despite the much professed ambitiousness, we do actually look forward to some unabashed weekend relaxation. Because we freakin' deserve it.

8. "Diamonds"

Because, we're confident. And we'd tend to agree that we're rare, beautiful, precious gems. Is that overconfident? Oh well. This is for us to enjoy anyway, guys.

Rock on, Capricorns. But not too hard. Remember, there's work to be done.
