Celebs Pay Tribute To Wes Craven

On Sunday, Aug. 30, the world of cinema lost a giant when director Wes Craven passed away. The filmmaker, best known for the Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street series, died at 76 after a battle with brain cancer, reported Deadline. He left behind a wife, Iya Labunka, and two sons, from his first marriage. He also left an enormous legacy, full of now-classic horror movies that are staples of their genre. As you might expect, his loss is already being felt by many, including actors and other stars who either knew him personally or, like us, just loved his movies. The many celebs reacting to Wes Craven's death span from comedians to sitcom stars, and they just keep pouring in.

From Paul Feig to Courteney Cox, celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their condolences for the star's family and to state their admiration of his decades of work. It's no surprise that Craven's death is so heavily felt, considering how much of an influence he had on the film industry since his beginnings in the '70s.
