Stop what you're doing, because I have some very important news. According to the Daily Mail, Zayn Malik is dating Neelam Gill. Yep, it appears the former One Direction member is moving on from his ex-fiancée Perrie Edwards with the 20-year-old, who is an extremely successful model. Reportedly, the two met in London earlier this year, but seeing as Malik was still engaged to Edwards, nothing happened between them at the time. But now, they're supposedly an item.
It seems they've bumped into each other on more than one occasion, including at the Asian Awards in London in April. Actually, after Malik won an award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, Gill sent him a congratulatory tweet. She wrote, "Congratulations on your award tonight @zaynmalik, catch up again soon!" Per the Daily Mail, she's even planning some time in Los Angeles so they can hang out while he's recording his first solo album.
Yep, it sure sounds serious, but sources are saying Gill isn't so sure she wants to be involved with such a famous face, especially since she's focusing on her modeling career. "Neelam doesn't know if she wants all of the drama that comes with dating someone in the public eye," the source said. "She is going to LA to spend some time with Zayn and see how things go from there. She is serious about her career and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that but she has hit it off with Zayn."
Whatever the case, I'm sure fans of Malik and One Direction are freaking out, accordingly. But before they make any judgments about Gill, they should get to know her a bit better. And I'm here to help with just that.

According to Elle UK, London-born Gill is the first Indian model cast in a Burberry campaign. How awesome is that? Plus, she is currently signed to Models One in London, Wilhelmina in New York and Miami, among other prestigious modeling agencies.
She's All About Raising Awareness
As an Indian model, Gill hopes to inspire others. She told Elle UK,
Hopefully now that I've started working and doing really well, there will be more Indian models. But I just do as much as I can to raise awareness about diversity in the industry. And that's why I'm so proud to get any job. It's more of an achievement for me, I think, being the first Indian model to work for so many big brands.
She Worked With Kanye
Gill is a Kanye West fan and was even in his Adidas show. She told Elle UK,
He was so nice. I was shocked. He is one of my favorite rappers. And I told him the story of when I was in high school and I worked in retail and I saved up my paychecks for months to buy tickets to see him live. And he said, "I know you from the Burberry shows! You're doing such a good job!" He was really, really supportive!
She Knows Harry Styles
She's already friends with at least 1D member, which means she and Malik are meant to be.
