Jake G.'s Beard Covers 'L'Uomo Vogue'

Is there anything sexier than a good looking dude rocking a beard and a tux, showing off his both tough and polished sides? Nope, not in my book! The eternally handsome Jake Gyllenhaal covers L'Uomo Vogue with a bushy, mountain man beard, a fierce stare, and a black tux, minus the bow tie. He often does the "beard and no tie" look.

It's an artfully disheveled presentation of Gyllenahaal for the Italian fashion mag. The actor is earning rave reviews for his work as a beaten down boxer in Southpaw. But he is so cute, even when he covers up half of his adorable face with a beard. Knees, meet weak!

It's not a perfectly manscaped beard, either. The bottom is a tad overgrown, while the mustache is thick and pretty much obscures most of his top lip.

Given the actor's thick crop of hair and insanely full brows, this cover look is super balanced. It also makes his eyes the centerpiece of the shot; he is posed like he has a lot on his mind and something is causing him anguish.

Excuse me for a second while I go off and cry in a corner — this cover is so hot that it hurts.

Gyllenhaal certainly burst onto the scene as a bit of a pretty boy, but I prefer him when he rocks the facial hair. His rugged look... just works.

Sorry, but Jared Leto isn't the only pretty dude who can rock the unkempt hair and beard combo effectively.

The L'Uomo Vogue cover is bangin' but it's not even Gyllenhaal's best beard pose. Here are 11 other times his beard has enhanced everything else about him.

1. Balanced

Gyllenhaal's bearded looks are often thick and balanced in relationship to the rest of his features. Like so.

2. Smile!

The beard also highlights his smile. It's a smile frame.

3. Less Is Still More

This thinner, less bushy version o' the beard is just as "rawr!" as the more robust one.

4. No Tie, No Problem

Are you swooning yet? Gyllenhaal often ditches ties and that's okay, since I am too busy looking at his well 'scaped beard.

5. Deep In Thought

He must be thinking about how good he looks (or he is discreetly checking for crumbs).

6. Shorter Hair, Don't Care

I know that I said his rich, dark locks balance out a full beard. But even when he does closer cropped hair, the whole look still comes together flawlessly.

7. Sorry Jamie Dornan, But...

I totally think Gyllenhaal's beard trumps that of Dornan. Sorry, not sorry all you Fifty Shades stans.

8. It's 5 O'Clock Somehwere

It's also 5 o'clock shadow on Jake G's face.

9. Why So Serious?

Serious and smoldering! He doesn't always need to smile, right?

10. It's Like A Perfect Outline

Not only is his facial hair like a perfect outline, but did you really notice how often he goes sans a tie? Most of these looks are tie-free. It's like the face hair is an accessory. Tie? Who needs a tie?

11. So Slick

The slicked back, wet look hair is a fine contrast for the wiry beard. That thing is perfect in all of its incarnations.

Gyllenhaal is one hot dude who can pull off the beard in all thicknesses and shapes. It's undeniable. Whether he's t-shirting or tuxing, it's the perfect complement.
