Who Is Desi Lydic? The New 'Daily Show' Correspondent Is Going To Be Your New Fave
Now that Jon Stewart has officially ended his run as the host of The Daily Show, the Comedy Central news talk show is expanding its lineup with the addition of three new correspondents. Joining host Trevor Noah, who is taking over for Stewart (those are some seriously big shoes to fill, might I add), is Ronny Chieng, Roy Wood Jr., and Desi Lydic. All are noteworthy, and not just because they are diversifying late-night television. The one who stands out, at least for me, is actress and comedienne Lydic. She probably looks familiar — and she should. But, if you've never seen her before, then let me answer the question "Who is Desi Lydic?" for you.
As stated above, the 34 year-old is an actress who's been seen all across the small and big screens. She's appeared on several well-known TV series, but there's probably one role she most recognized for and that is her character on MTV's Awkward. Lydic plays guidance counselor Valerie Marks. She's also starred in Lifetime's The Client List, as Dee Ann. When it comes to film, Lydic's been featured in We Bought a Zoo and Stan Helsing. She also made headlines for appearing as a lesbian on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie. Lydic was beyond proud of that moment, and rightfully so.
She's a true talent and there's no doubt Lydic will bring her A-game to The Daily Show. Ahead of the premiere on Sept. 28, let's get to know Lydic a bit better.
She's Really Excited About Her New Job
Can you blame her? Also, I'm totally with her about not wanting to wear pants. Who wants to wear pants? They're way too constricting.
She's A Soon-To-Be Mom
Congrats to Lydic and her husband!
She's All About Women's Equality
I love her even more.
She Has An Amazing Personality
Desi, can we hang out for a day?
She Really Loves Her Family
Need I say more?
