Instagram Is Taking Over NYFW

by Augusta Statz

When it comes to documenting NYFW, one social media platform has this thing on lock. Designer Misha Nonoo showed an entire collection on Instagram instead of showcasing IRL, and it only proves that your favorite way to kill time is now taking over fashion week. Keeping up with the action via Instagram has been really cool, especially for those of us who couldn’t be in NY. In the city or not, if your Insta game is strong, you haven’t been missing a thing.

Between devoting an entire section solely to the week's events and having designers show on social media instead of on an actual runway, Instagram’s the place to see the action, especially since the most important part of a runway show is how much of an impression it makes. The beauty of an Insta-show is that it will be viewed more than once, and considering that it’s the first-ever show of this kind, I’m sure it will be talked about for a while to come.

See just a few of the ways that this popular social media site is where it’s as far as getting a “front row seat” at NYFW. With it becoming such an integral part of fashion (and the way we live our lives, in general) I’m excited to see where this will go.
